Fava selected for Deep Tech Accelerator
Fava Health has joined the Unit M Deep Tech Accelerator, a three-month programme supporting technical founders and science-based start-ups from across Greater Manchester.
The news
We were selected as part of Unit M’s first Deep Tech Accelerator cohort, joining a group of companies developing science and technology-led innovations across health, life sciences, data, materials, energy and other sectors.
The programme provides up to £25k of equity-free funding, specialist mentoring, customer discovery support, investor readiness training and access to a wider innovation network.
Why it matters
Fava is building the digital infrastructure needed to make genomics part of everyday healthcare.
Genetic differences can influence how people respond to medicines, but this information is rarely used in routine care. Health systems need practical tools that can translate complex genomic data into clear, actionable guidance and integrate it into frontline clinical workflows.
Being selected for the Deep Tech Accelerator further validates the need for the products we are building and the importance of turning genomic science into real-world clinical impact.
What it means for us
Joining the programme marks an important step in our development as a Manchester-based health technology company.
Since launching in 2023, we have secured grant funding, generated early revenue, built our minimum viable platform and delivered real-world pilots in pharmacogenomics.
Through the accelerator, we are strengthening our commercial strategy, refining our market positioning and learning how to turn early pilots into scalable, recurring contracts. The programme is also helping us build valuable skills around customer discovery, investor readiness, hiring and developing the high-performing team we need as we scale.
What comes next
We will use the programme to deepen our understanding of customer needs, procurement pathways and willingness to pay across healthcare and population genomics programmes.
We are also continuing to develop our platform, regulatory roadmap and partnerships, with the aim of building a globally relevant genomics company rooted in Manchester.
